The million-dollar question which has made more and more people raise their eyebrows in the past ~8 months. In truth, this is due to Helium 10 making a huge update on their toolkit and data accuracy, thus gaining more popularity among Amazon sellers lately. It was inevitable we would reach a point when people would ask themselves which is the best tool: Jungle Scout or Helium 10?
Before answering that though, we need to weigh the pros and cons of each product. I’ve been using both tools a lot in the past with major success and I am able to offer you the most objective opinion as possible.

Jungle Scout Overview
Speaking about popular choices … Jungle Scout has established itself since a while as the popular choice for Amazon Sellers. But, is it still the case right now? Should you also buy it? Are there better alternatives?
I would say yes, there are alternatives. But, that depends on you and how bad you want to succeed on Amazon.
Back on topic, let’s start with the pricing. Below you have Jungle Scout’s pricing, split between the Web App, Extension and a bundle which contains both.
Jungle Scout Pricing
As I mentioned earlier, Jungle Scout has helped me a lot with my business over the years and I could go into details for each of their tools, but that is not the purpose of this article. However, you can check my full Jungle Scout Review here.
To keep things short, the Web App offers you access to their Product Research tools. Here you can filter your searches based on a lot of product categories and refine it by adding more filters like no. of reviews, rating, price, revenue, no. of sellers, weight etc. You can also track products to see their evolution over-time so you can take better decisions and you have access to their Niche Hunter tool which can help you find potentially profitable products.
That’s about it.
The Extension does pretty much what you’d expect it to do. I was using it to do a quick sweep for products ideas while browsing on Amazon and getting instant relevant data like sales estimates, profit margin, revenue, seller rating etc. You can pretty much use the extension to run a preliminary analysis and evaluate products for profitability and potential competition & then you go to the web app for more thorough research.

The number one trait which makes and breaks all the Amazon FBA toolkits is the data accuracy they provide. It basically differentiates them into good and bad ones. Truth be told, Jungle Scout has always been on top accuracy-wise, but now has a true contender in Helium 10 which not only has an outstanding toolkit compared to Jungle Scout but also developed a much better algorithm which tremendously boosted its accuracy. I strongly believe that Helium 10 is more accurate than Jungle Scout now.
Last but not least, if you intend on giving Jungle Scout a shot with a trial account and maybe make a decision after, you’d be disappointed. Jungle Scout does not offer a Free Trial. In comparison, Helium 10 offers a completely Free plan and you can use all its tools too!
Helium 10 Overview
First of all, Helium 10 has a huge Amazon Seller community. It might not seem very important at a first glance, but they managed to get around them an impressive amount of 6 to 7 figure sellers & mentors since about a year and a half. This says a lot about trust and the quality of their product. If so many people who are doing great on Amazon have moved to Helium 10’s yard, then this is a testament to the performance of their suite.
Helium 10 has 17 integrated tools (12 for the web app & 5 for the extension). Is not just about the numbers, but if you compare this to Jungle Scout, Helium 10 simply has it all + a little extra. Everything from Product Research, Product Launch, Keyword Research, Listing Optimization and also Maintenance.
In essence, Helium 10 simply offers more than Jungle Scout and as of recently their tools also offer better accuracy. Let’s go through some of the suite’s most important tools:
Helium 10 Black Box
By far the most important tool and simply put, the core of Helium 10: Amazon Product Research. Since most of you reading this will already be familiar with product research tools, Helium 10’s Black Box is the bread and butter when it comes to finding new, winning products or new niches. You know how this works. You can narrow your search with categories such as Monthly Revenue, Price, Review Count, Review Rating etc.
Helium 10 Chrome Extension
The extension helps you with real data feedback and accurate estimates for the previous products you found over on the Black Box. Its role is to pretty much validate the niche/s or products you searched through the Black Box initially. All the major tools on the market have an extension so this is probably no big news for any of you.
However, Helium 10 did incorporate a couple of custom metrics to help Amazon sellers further and increase the accuracy of their extension results:
- Review Velocity – shows the change in reviews over the past 30 days.
- Inventory Level – simply check how many products your competitors may have in stock.
- Review Downloader – you can now just download all the review of your listing/s & filter them by Date, Verified Status, Review level, Reviews with Images or Videos etc.
Helium 10 Magnet
Helium 10’s Keyword Research Tool. You input a keyword then Magnet will generate a list of long-tailed keywords with direct relevance to your initial seed keyword. The tool has a lot of metrics as you’d expect such as Exact & Broad Search Volumes, Sponsored ASINs so you know if there is ad-wise competition as well, no. of competing products, Headline ASINs and last but not least, Helium 10’s custom metric: Magnet IQ score.
The higher the Magnet IQ Score number, the stronger the keyword to target. Keywords with higher numbers have high search volume relative to low competition from similar products.
Helium 10 Cerebro
One of the first unique tools in Helium 10’s suite. Probably the best there is in terms of ASIN’s reverse engineering. Basically, you input one of your competitor’s ASIN and Cerebro will spit out ALL of the keywords for which it is ranking plus naturally, the search volume for every single one of them.
Helium 10 Misspellinator
An extremely useful tool Helium 10 has come up with. Simply put, you insert your main list of keywords and then it will find all the common misspellings Amazon users are doing! Of course, we all know Amazon is auto-correcting some of these so the guys from Helium 10 have thought about that as well so they included a column which mentions if the misspelt keywords it generated upon your search are auto-corrected by Amazon or not. Saves you some precious time.
Additionally, you will just enlarge your keyword list with a lot of misspellings which are not being auto-corrected by Amazon. This will only lead to getting more reach with your products and ultimately, sales.
Helium 10 Hijacker Alert
That moment when you found a nice niche, made a product of your own, turned out was a success and you started making some money and then Hijackers went on selling copy-cat products off your brand. The frustration you feel is overwhelming. And yes, I’ve been there too, but luckily, I found this nice “Hijacker Alert” tool from Helium 10 which is helping me deal with these people even before they can even start harming my sales.
Long story short, Helium 10 will automatically detect if any of your ASIN’s have been duped and immediately sends you a notification alerting you that someone is maybe trying to copy your products.
Helium 10 Refund Genie
Refund Genie will basically analyze all your transaction & warehouse report from Seller Central and will check if there is any discrepancy between them and notify you if you are owed a reimbursement. Additionally, it will also give you a step-by-step guide on how to send a report to Amazon Seller Central and how you should formulate your emails.
Only last month, I got refunded for $3723 on my Seller Central account solely through Helium 10’s Refund Genie. Probably I would have found out about the reimbursements myself or not, but the truth is this tool makes everything on auto-pilot. Saves me countless hours of analyzing Seller Central stock reports!
Helium 10 Pricing
As far as the plans go, Helium 10 has a big advantage over Jungle Scout because of their Free plan. You can test literally every single one of their 17 tools for Free for 30 days! Not 7, not 14, but 30 days. That is a huge amount of time for anyone unsure or skeptical about Helium 10 to go ahead and test it. If you don’t like it or doesn’t work for you, you don’t switch to a paid plan. Simple and no strings attached.
The Platinum Plan gets you the best bang for your buck, while the Diamond Plan and beyond works for sellers who are running operations with a large variety of products. Personally, I switched to Diamond about 2 months ago when Helium 10 convinced me is the most complete toolkit on the market.
Final Verdict
Jungle Scout definitely is a solid tool and I can see why it is so popular, but it primarily focuses on Product Research. Which is cool for a certain period of time, but if you’re like me, you will find yourself in a position of needing more. And at the moment, Helium 10 clearly has the most complete Amazon Seller toolkit out there.
In my opinion, Helium 10 came out very strong with their accuracy improvements and currently has the upper hand over Jungle Scout. On top of this, their community is as strong as ever and you can find a lot of tips and tricks towards listing optimization, Amazon Ads, custom photography services, outsource manufacturing and many, many mentors willing to share their feedback (not all of them are free, of course).
In closing thoughts, I’d totally recommend choosing Helium 10 over Jungle Scout for both Amazon newcomers who’ve recently started their biz or looking to do it and for veterans alike. Unless Jungle Scout does a major overhaul of their suite in the near future, Helium 10 will continue to be on top.
